Introducing Tales from Different Cultures

The IB proudly introduces the Ten Tales from Different Cultures series, a collection of beautifully illustrated folk tales from around the world.

These entertaining stories, retold by acclaimed authors Andrew Fusek Peters and Polly Peters, encourage traditional storytelling in the modern contexts of the classroom and home.  With colourful characters and unpredictable twists and turns, these books will engage PYP learners while introducing them to stories from other cultures.

The books are written for 5 to 9 year olds and contain charming illustrations in a unique style for each story. They can be used for shared reading, guided reading or independent reading at home or in the classroom.

The folk tales in the collection come from 10 diverse cultures around the world—Korean, Czech, Malaysian, Australian, American Indian, Swedish, Turkish, British, African and Mexican.

The titles can be purchased separately, or as a set (10% discount available).

Free teaching and learning support notes for Ten Tales from Different Cultures are available to download on the IB store. These teaching and learning support notes contain over 50 activity ideas for teachers and provide links to key elements of the PYP.
