Do you want to join the Global Communications team at the International Baccalaureate (IB) in The Hague, Netherlands?

Are you an aspiring journalist, writer or editor? Are you in your first year at university or in higher education and looking for an internship as part of your studies? Our office in The Hague always welcomes interns who support our communications and branding projects.

Our internship opportunities have a strong focus on creating original written material for our blog, intranet, but also for social media to engage with the IB community. The ideal candidates will have a passion for conceptualizing, writing, researching, and delivering original engaging stories of interest to our stakeholders.

The positions are full time and paid, with flexible hours. You will be expected to engage professionally with a wide range of IB stakeholders and adapt your writing skills for different mediums and communication channels.

Responsibilities can include:

  • Research, conceptualize, draft and edit original written blog and social media content
  • Write news summaries about the IB in the global press
  • Write articles for our staff intranet
  • Build content on our blog
  • Proofread and edit written content
  • Collaborate on strategies to engage the IB community through social media
  • Conduct outreach to the IB community and identify key stakeholders
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by supervisor

Requirements:

  • You are enrolled in your first year at university or in higher education
  • You have excellent organizational, writing, editing, research and communications skills
  • Experience with WordPress and Photoshop would be a strong advantage
  • You desire to creatively develop campaigns and strategies to engage the IB community
  • You have the ability to communicate professionally with a diverse group of international stakeholders

The IB offers interns:

  • A flexible working schedule and environment
  • Opportunity to use various skills and pursue specific interests
  • Internships are full-time and paid EUR350 per month
  • Fixed termed, for no less than two months

*Note that the IB does not cover the costs for travel, housing, or health insurance. All interns require a BSN number and a Dutch bank account for salary payments.

We are a very welcoming team that is part of a global organization with more than 700 employees across five different countries. You will enjoy The Hague, a coastal town where you will be close to the beach, and not far from cities like Rotterdam and Amsterdam. There are plenty of cultural activities in the town with a small but lively town centre that is well served by train, bus, trams and bikes.
