IB Community Theme web platform goes live!
By Lee Davis • Feb 25th, 2008 • Category: IB, Web 2.0, community themeToday we launched a site we have been working on for the past few months: the IB Community Theme web platform.
It has been developed to help schools integrate curriculum planning and activities around 6 major global issues into school life … and to share results, successes and stories with the global IB community.
It is an exciting venture in terms of the IB’s digital space and our first proper foray into linking Web 2.0 concepts with community-based site development.
We hope you like it and feel able to contribute.
OPLS team.

Dear John,
Many thanks for your post and your interest in gathering more information about the IB. You will find that our website (www.ibo.org) has a wealth of information regarding our programs, with a special section dedicated to parents and community members. In addition, I have forwarded your post to several individuals in various school districts that we have worked with to allow them to provide their perspectives related to the IB. I hope this information will be useful.
All best,
Mar
Thanks for your comments, John.
I hope you receive some response to your request for the sharing of experiences and information. I have passed this on to our people on the ground in the US to see if they can put you in touch with anyone too.
All the best,
Lee
This is a very interesting site, thank you. As someone from outside the IB community, it would be good to have a place where those thinking about joining could have a taste of what is inside. I live in Oberlin, Ohio a town that is embarking on an IB program. I am a citizen of the town and very much interested in the potentially great benefit IB can have on teaching and learning in this very diverse district. If anyone can comment on their experiences with IB in a district, we have a group of taxpaying townsfolk interested in hearing about it. We can be reached at Community Diaries Oberlin http://www.communitydiaries.org/oh/oberlin/?p=122
We hope to hear from you.
A very interesting, well presented site.
Well done.
