Universal navigation

Just a quick note to tell you - in case you haven’t spotted it yet ;-) - that we have added a universal navigation bar to most of the IB sites that are public.

Navigation bar screen grab

I’m sure it will help with general navigation across the IB’s web presence. Let us know what you think.

YES!! Just today I noticed how easy it was to navigate from the occ back to ibo.org…terrific!!!

It is indeed a slick option.

What might make it more useful to me is that it would open the new site in a new window for better cross referencing. That may not be a big need for others but for me it has been. Interesting that when in the OCC on the home page the going to forums does open a new window. But if I start in Forums it does not.

Your consistency point is a good one, Ken.

It is best practice, though, to give the user the choice on whether to spawn a new window/tab or not - hence our decision to replace the existing window on default.

The OCC forums link is a legacy issue really.

One tip, hold the ctrl or Mac key down while clicking on the link you need and that will open a new tab for you.

Hope that helps - at least in part.

Yep, I noticed, and I think it’s great. Much easier navigation and it certainly streamlines everything. Particularly useful when you are doing an IB online course and need to go to several different IB websites at once. Hooray!
