IB Physics Help
By Paul Harrington • Apr 25th, 2008 • Category: Teaching and learningHoratiu Pop a Physics teacher from The British School in Warsaw has produced a series of video podcasts to help his students and other High School students called IB Physics Help.
It is great to see IB teachers using new Web 2.0 tools as part of their teaching, as it enhances the learning of pupils who are used to viewing material online or as a download. Horatiu has posted his video podcasts to variety of sites( Blip.tv and YouTube)in order to encourage his pupils and others to download them to help in their studies.
We look forward to seeing more IB Physics Help video podcasts in the near future, and would like to hear of any other web 2.0 initiatives like this that are happening in IB schools around the world.

One of the participants on one of my online workshops, Rowdy Boeyink from International School of Singapore has set up a Wiki for his MYP students. The wiki is a collaborative tool for the students to learn about Cloning and the ethical and moral dilemmas facing us.

At my school in Hanoi, we are making the move to a 1:1 tablet program next year. I’ve started creating screencasted movies (using OneNote and CamStudio) for my DP and MYP math classes and posting them on our school portal. Once the students have their tablets, I’d like to get them creating video examples for their peers.
If I ever figure out how, I’d also like to make my video tutorials available through ITunesU. Can you imagine a class full of students with video IPods full of math (and other subjects) tutorials at their fingertips?
Paul,
Thanks for mentioning my podcast on your blog. I hope I will be able to keep this project rolling. Right now I’m working on a new episode and I hope I’ll be able to put it online in the next couple of weeks. As you can probably imagine, it take a lot of time to produce a short 10-15 min episode, but the positive feedback I received so far keeps me going.
