We are delighted to announce that the 2009 Heads World Conference will be held in Seville, Spain. The conference will open on the evening of Tuesday 13 October, and conclude on Friday 16 October with a gala dinner.
Conference languages
The conference languages are Spanish and English. All plenaries and break-out sessions will propose simultaneous translation from English to Spanish and/or Spanish to English.
Registration forms are available in the three main IB working languages - English, French and Spanish.
This will be my first time at an IB Conference - can you please advise on dress codes for the day, and evening sessions and the gala dinner (black tie?) as I can’t seem to find any reference to this in the conference packs.

we would recommend business casual dress for the day and business formal for the dinner. Black tie is not necessary.
I too have tried to register on-line for the Head conference, followed up with fax (including proof of payment) and several e-mails and yet still do not know if I am registered with the conference and hotel and it is just 10 days away. the last e-mail said the forms had been recieved and they were awaiting payment but this was a couple of weeks ago. How can I get confirmation?

We have problems with confirmation of registration. We have filled the registration form online, but we haven’t gotten any information back. We called secretairat but it’s busy all the time.

I tried to register online for this conference, my registration was accepted but I was not able to proceed with the credit card information. I have tried to fax the details to Mr Perez but the numbers do not work. I have e-mailed as well but I have not received any response. I am concerned because I am traveling from the Caribbean and I need to make air travel arrangements. Can you offer any assistance?

I have registered to this conference using download forms. How can I confirm my registration? I have contacted the organisators of this conference at congresos@viajestavora.com but have not recieved a reply. Payment has been done through telegraphic transfer. Is there a way to check? Please advice.

Hello, I have registered my Principal for the conference, accommodation and a tour and have received confirmation of same. I attempted to pay online with an AMEX credit card but was unable to follow the Spanish bank instructions. I then forwarded the payment details to our Accounts Payable and they have been unable to process a Bank Draft; not able to find the “Swift code”. I have also emailed Francisco at ‘congresos@viajestavora.com’ and had no response. I am now concerned that unless we can process payment soon we will lose the registration. Assistance please to ensure we are booked.

I registered Stephen Moon last Friday using the online system but I have not received confirmation. I have also sent two emails to Francisco at ‘congresos@viajestavora.com’ but have not received any reply. I would like to know how much the course and the cultural tours will cost in sterling so that I can write out the cheque. I also need to know that Stephen is booked on the conference.

Will there be an opportunity to register online via credit card? Or is the only way to register by credit card to mail the information to Seville? Surely we can register online with a credit card. Will anyone be responding to this question?

Dear conference organisers,
I have managed to register online, but do have some queries I hope you can help me with:
- When I make the hotel reservation am I expected to also make the full payment for this? Or do I reserve now and pay on arrival?
- In the Conference programme, two tours are mentioned
Alcazar by night on the 14th
Seville cultural tour on the afternoon of the 15th
Are these included in the conference fee?
- In the programme of social activities, a cultural tour, “Sevilla Monumental”, is scheduled for October 15th. Is this the one that is mentioned in the conference programme or is it something different?
- Which meals are covered by the conference fee?
- I would like my wife to accompany me to various events, but she is not a conference participant. Is this possible? I would like her to come to the welcome reception, Alcazar tour, cultural tour on the afternoon of the 15th and the gala dinner on the 16th.
What would be the extra charge for this? At what point would I be expected to make this payment?
- When I make the payment, can I do this with one payment only, which covers conference fee, optional tours and accommodation? Or do I need to make 3 separate payments?

I was looking at the recent information sent out about the break out sessions and wondered if you could arrange for two amendments to the information about my session , “Intercas - the IB mission in action in a practical way”
a) Indicate under my name that my school is in Argentina and also that I am a member of the IB Heads Council
b) In the text which outlines the session, on line 9, add the word way after collaborative

I completed the registration form but was unsuccessful sending the document. The registration is being blocked by the host site.

Is this conference appropriate for a starter school? Do the conferences at Asia Pacific region meant for Asia region educators only? I mean can people from one region join these one of these conferences where ever they are held.
