Join the PYP team in Chicago!
Members of the PYP development team are attending the IB Conference of the Americas in Chicago, Illinois, USA, from 23 to 26 July 2015. We would like to invite all those attending the conference to join our sessions and stop by the PYP booth (open from 23 July 19:00 to 25 July 17:00) to meet the team, ask questions about the programme and make new connections with IB educators.
Conference session: Learning for life through playful ways of knowing
Description: Learning for life, what’s play got to do with it? Come discover aspects of PYP development that aim to tease out the relationship between developing the attributes of the IB Learner Profile and PYP students’ playful ways of learning and knowing. This interactive session will give you some insights on types of play and their impact on critical processes for learning. We will also discuss how IB educators might collectively form a powerful professional community of practice around the importance of learning through play.
Conference session: Learning for life – Educating the whole person
Description: A community of learners in the PYP is built upon the attributes of the Learner profile with the aim of promoting international-mindedness and lifelong learning. Lifelong learners understand the importance of balance to achieve personal well-being for themselves and others. Join this interactive session to share how your school strives to achieve balance for your PYP learners in order to contribute to the learning and well-being of others.
