Lightening the Mood – Six IB videos that will make you smile

Maya Grodman is the IB’s University Relations Administrator at the IB Global Centre in Bethesda, MD, USA.  She also an IB graduate of Collège du Léman International School in Geneva, Switzerland.

In this busy and stressful time of year for IB students, counselors and coordinators, we thought it would be nice to share some videos that might help to energize you! These videos have not been created by the IB, but here in the office, we thoroughly enjoy them!

1. The IB Song

These three students perform original lyrics to Ke$ha’s Tik Tok – their lamenting about a lack of sleep and working hard is all too relatable!

2. IB Learner Profile Rap

This is the most creative and dynamic explanation of the IB learner profile we’ve ever seen! Fridley High School really has a good grip on what the IB’s all about.

3. IB students 2013 Les Mis parody

Talented vocalists, clever original lyrics to the classic Les Misérables score, and teacher participation – what more could we ask for?

4. A Typical Day in the IB Life

This video playfully mocks the “IB life,” while embracing all the things that make it wonderful. They also include tips for incoming IB students! It looks like they all had fun while making the video, which we love to see.

5. IB Tik Tok

Apparently this is a popular song among IB students! This video is just too cute to pass up. This was clearly a group effort and the results are wonderful!

6. IB Style – Gangnam Style parody by Rohit

A very clever parody of the song that  swept the dance floors a few years ago. Rohit writes, sings and dances – a triple threat from an IB student!
