This week, our colleagues in Global Recognition have put together a post about the upcoming Higher Education Symposium, to take place at the University of Hong Kong in October 2014!
Early registration is open for the 2nd annual IB Higher Education Symposium at the University of Hong Kong from October 16-17. The theme of this year’s event, ‘What IB students bring to higher education,’ will continue the discussion around the rigor and college-preparedness of IB students and the benefits to universities welcoming them to their campuses.
The early bird registration fee is available until August 29, 2014. The symposium is designed to support senior admissions leadership, as well as secondary school-based college counselors. To learn more about, registration fees, deadlines, and the cancellation policy, please visit the IB Higher Education Symposium Website.
The inaugural IB Higher Education Symposium was held in October 2013 at Stanford University, one of the world’s leading research and teaching institutions. This event, which gathered nearly 100 admissions officers and college counselors from 12 countries, was designed for university entrance officers to learn more about the rigor of the IB and how IB students enrich a university’s idealism.
The program featured panel discussions on recognition opportunities, the changing higher education landscape, and research on college readiness. It also served as a great forum to address trends in higher education and university admissions.
